Description & Requirements

At an expert level, administers computing and/or data storage infrastructure supporting IT services at the Broad. Recognized as a thought leader in the organization; engages with key leadership and business partners. Applies and integrates
new technology and services. Develops IT policies and procedures.

Characteristic Duties:

  • Serve as a technical resource for both the IT team as well as a non-technical audience.
  • Use understanding of cross discipline technical, business,and scientific issues to contribute to strategy and debug complex multi-system issues.
  • Provide pro-active training, engagement, and collaborative development of services with the end user community.
  • Provide high level architectural requirements definition and project supervision in the implementation of new infrastructure projects.
  • Develop detailed architectural documentation suitable for a broad range of users.
  • Participate extensively in outreach and cross-Broad technology strategy
  • Writes material for technical journals , conference audiences and executive decision makers.


Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
  • Advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years’ experience, including substantial responsibility for major technical areas.
  • Recognized regional / national domain expert.


Prerequisites:

  • Demonstrated experience in the design of complex IT systems.
  • Experience supporting and contributing to application and software development efforts.
  • Demonstrated record of success in technical leadership of scientific computing organizations.
  • Serves as the technical reference within Broad for their area of specialty.
  • Trusted consultant to executive leadership and senior investigators.
The expected base pay range for this position as listed above is based on a 40 hour per week schedule. Broad provides pay ranges representing its reasonable and good faith estimate of what the organization reasonably expects to pay for a position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will vary based on factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, education, qualifications, and other factors permissible by law.
