Description & Requirements

The Senior EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) Systems Specialist will serve as EHS’s technology expert, with focus on overseeing the various EHS specific software systems, the EHS website, Google forms and other computer-related technology needs for the group.  

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Manage the EHS training software system. Develop a deep expertise in the Traincaster learning management system. Duties in this area will include working with other EHS team members and EHS representatives to create new web-based training courses and update existing courses; editing training videos and uploading them to Traincaster/ EHS website; creating and running training reports; reviewing Traincaster User Load Summary and updating Traincaster accounts; performing audits; working with software providers and Broad HR, IT and other groups to develop and troubleshoot data feeds between Traincaster and other systems (i.e. CITI, Workday, SafetyStratus Inspection System, card access control systems).  Perform technical troubleshooting and provide technical support; work with users having issues with the system.  
  • Manage,  expand, and implement the Facilities Compliance Calendar
  • Develop and Implement routine post-training surveys - identify critical metrics, analyze data, and deliver actionable insights.
  • Manage and oversee the EHS website and work with the EHS team and Broad Communications on updating and expanding the site.
  • Manage the EHS Inspection and Incident Report systems - setup and maintain data feeds, update inspection/incident report fields as needed (labs, group rosters, findings, questions, etc.).  Develop and manage training for new users. Analyze data and identify critical metrics.
  • Manage EHS inquiries via ServiceNow.   Responsibilities include the triaging and responding of tickets as well as updating templates and dashboards.
  • Assist with managing eProtocol (systems used for managing the Institutional Biosafety Committee protocols).  Responsibilities include updating forms and templates (i.e. hazmat form) and other updates in addition to system and other changes to the IBC and IACUC forms (these are time-consuming projects with software vendor Key Solutions).
  • Create and manage various EHS-related Google forms including Minors form, Injury Report form, surveys.
  • Setup and maintain other EHS software or resources.
  • Stay up to date on EHS processes and keep EHS systems current.
  • Identify improvement initiatives and apply technology solutions.
  • Interface with Business Systems on SAP purchase order system issues.
  • Support the EHS Team.
  • Perform other dues as assigned.
 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education - minimum bachelor's degree in computer science or related study preferred
  • Experience - for this position, ability to work in and understanding of software systems is more important than EHS professional knowledge. 5+ years of relevant IT/business experience preferred. Experience with Traincaster (or a similar training software system) strongly preferred.
