The Broad/Stanley Center

The mission of the Stanley Center for Psychiatric Research at the Broad Institute is to discover novel therapeutics to ameliorate the burden of major psychiatric illnesses including schizophrenia, bipolar disorders and autism spectrum.

Job Responsibilities 

  • Implement in vivo, ex vivo electrophysiological and cellular assays to lead the study on circuit mechanisms of major psychiatric illnesses in the genetic models of psychiatric illnesses
  • Utilize an array of techniques including in vivo and ex vivo recordings, pharmacology, chemo- and optogenetic manipulations to analyze the role of genetic and environmental perturbation on the disease etiology and pathogenesis 
  • Be responsible for communicating results to the scientific community through conference presentations and publications, and within Broad Institute internal communications.
Qualifications
  •  Ph.D. in Neuroscience or related field with solid training in ex vivo and/or in vivo electrophysiological recordings. 
  • Demonstrated technical proficiency in whole cell patch clamp recordings in brain slices and LFP and single unit in vivo recordings of live animals. 
  • Proven record of first author publications
  • Outstanding personal initiative and communication skills, to work in a collaborative environment.
